Few realize the devastation that Cambodia has suffered. Thirty years of war and the Khmer Rouge left much of this beautiful and ancient country in ruin and desperate poverty. Cambodia has not experienced the economic boom and development like it's neighbor Vietnam. Poverty and need are everywhere. Some solutions are simple and inexpensive. Unfortunately, even the most meager of needs often goes unfulfilled.

Clean Water is something we take for granted, but this is not the case in Cambodia. Many Cambodians are forced to drink contaminated water or no water at all. Most of the people living in small villages, take buckets to the nearest river or lake. The water they bring back often contains disease causing bacteria. It should be boiled before consumption, but without electricity this is very difficult. Intestinal problems and skin conditions are common. $55 buys a well, that will provide clean water for five families |
